After having wondered where Charlie was for a long time, it was logical - in a society where the press, very largely digitalized, plays an increasingly important and immediate role in our daily life - to wonder about a resistance member of the paper medium, and to go in search of the essence of this sacred monster, whose 100 candles have been blown: The Chained Duck. This bird, in a century of existence, has already made fly more than a feather and, even today, is at the center of the controversies upset the country. This French-style exception is, almost unanimously - any distant political divide - a reference in terms of freedom of expression and investigation. It is this longevity and this positioning that Just Cage wanted to highlight in a series of works that gives color to the black, white and red weekly. Oscillating between flat areas and dripping, the paintings revolve around recolored archive pages. By giving a new youth to the "duck", the artist brings out its obvious timelessness.
