"Yo Cuba" An exhibition - A film I met Cuba and my freedom at the same time. It's as if I got lost and someone came to give me news. I wanted to create a work to transcend myself, to see myself through others and see others through me. The exchanges are rich and intense in this country, despite the many contradictions and ambivalences that can exist in a totalitarian country where the simplest needs are lacking! By the beauty and sensuality of things, by the attention given to being to the humanity of man: bodies, colors, nature, architecture, music, art, dance ... Even in their way of circulating the language, of communicating, always filled with metaphors, poetry and humor… I then felt this irrepressible need to transcribe, film, draw, paint. This exhibition, like an act of love towards a people, a country, and towards myself devotes this 8 years work around Cuba and with Cuba, the time to realize there "a film poem" and to sublimate something to through creation - something that escapes me!
