Recent works by Philippe Pradalié. Views of Rome, oil paintings on canvas. Philippe Pradalié was born in Avignon, in 1938. Lives and works in Paris and Clermont-l'Hérault. 1958 Paul Ricard Prize, Île de Bendor (Bandol). 1961 Laureate of the 2nd Biennale de Paris. Meeting with Alberto Giacometti, juror of the Prize, who encourages him to continue his artistic approach. 1962 René Pous Prize, Collioure. 1965 and 1967 Stays in the United States. 1968-1976 Stop of pictorial production. During his third trip to the United States in 1970, he toured the streets of New York. Back in Paris, he made films for the Research Department of the ORTF and the INA During a screening of New York rushes at the ORTF, he met Henri Cartier-Bresson who obtained help from the Super 8 experimentation service for the shaping of his first film: Manhattan Express (1970); Bastilles followed in 1973 and 1975, Une Journée Particulier. In 1970, Pradalié produced Mer - de à la peinture, a technical test film. Production of multiple objects and furniture (Berceau fleur, 1971). Some will be broadcast by Roche Bobois. 1969 Discovery of an 11th century Cistercian monastic building recently listed as a Historic Monument and the only surviving testimony to the present day of the fifty barns and cellars around the Abbey of Fontenay in Burgundy. Work of digger, mason, carpenter. 1970-1973 In January 1970, Pierre Restany wrote the Manifesto of Atelier A. In this adventure Philippe Pradalié worked alongside some fifty artists including Arman, Mark Brusse, Lourdes Castro, César, Pierre Dmitrienko, Sara Holt, Alain Jacquet, Péter Klasen, Robert Malaval, Annette Messager, Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Hervé Télémaque, Bernar Venet, lannis Xenakis etc. 1976-1977 Lecturer at the Ecole des Beaux-arts in Montpellier; the artist is thanked: the teaching delivered does not comply with the educational options of the Ministry of Culture. Helped by the painter Martin Dieterle, Pradalié resumed pictorial activity. 1979-1983 Philippe Pradalié builds his house with workshop in a hangar whose facade is a vestige of the Universal Exhibition of 1889, rue Oberkampf in Paris. 1980-2004 Professor at the National Art School of Dijon.
