Katie was born and raised in Atarrkerte country (Camel Camp) at Utopia which is approximately 200km north east of Alice Springs, where she also attended the UtopiaPrimary school. Katie is an emerging artist who started painting on canvas in 1996 with the women’s group, following the original batik project. Her style has a finely controlled approach to abstraction of her stories. Her subjects are Yam Seed and Bush Flowers.
