Gabriella Possum Nungurray is an Australian painter born in 1967.
She comes from a family of artists, of which her father Clifford is the most famous.This is why, Gabriella started practicing painting since her childhood and she quickly perfectionated her practice besides her father.
In Gabriella's work, her main source of inspiration is her fathers' work. In fact, it was her father who taught her since a very young age all the secrets of traditional and modern painting and several techniques where color play a main role, inspired by Australian light.
In her works, Gabriella seeks to depict all the stories, legends and tales of her community which are transmitted mainly orally but thanks to Gabriella's work we can keep track and memory of these stories.
