Kathleen Napurrurla Gibson is an Australian artist born in 1983 in Alice Springs, in the old Aboriginal community of Nyirripi. Just like her grandmother, she is a member of the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation since 2008, an art center whose purpose is to promote the aboriginal culture all around Australia. It was not until 2012 that she decided to dedicate completely to painting.
The history of the Nyirripu Community is transmitted down from generation to generation oraly.This history that Kathleen Napurrurla Gibson tries to represent in her compositions, through traditional symbols and codes. However, the interpretation that she makes of her cultural heritage becomes modern.
