Born in 1952 - Australia
Phyllis Williams Napurrurla is an Aboriginal artist from the central desert of Australia, born in 1952. She lives and works in a community of artists from Yuendumu, where she paints dreamlike stories, inherited from her ancestors.
She worked for a while at Mount Doreen Station and then moved to Yuendumu where she currently lives. She has been painting since 1988 with the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, an aboriginal art center.
She mainly paints around the Janganpa Jukurrpa theme, but also other dreams passed on from generations. Side by side her painting activity, she has developed a taste for hunting with other members of the community.
