Shorty Jangala Robertson is an Australian aboriginal artist born in 1925. He is originally from the central Australian desert, at the Northwest of Yuendumu. A member of the Warlpiri community, his life has been marked by periods of nomadism and traveling through the desert. His childhood was marked by the massacres perpetrated against the aboriginal community during the 20s.

The artist paints dreams coming from aboriginal oral traditions of thousands of years. Which are intimately connected to the land, sacred value of the painter's community. His favorite dreams are the Ngapa (water), the Watiyawarnu (acacia), the Yankirri (emu) and the Pamapardu (the flying ant). The artist creates intimately spiritual pieces, in the aboriginal pictorial tradition.

Shorty Jangala Robertson's work has been exhibited in numerous galleries around the world. His pieces are part of the collections at the National Gallery of Australia (Canberra) and at the National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne).
