Cindy Pino Vila

Belgian artist born in La Louvière on 05 May 1985, I draw since my youngest age. So it was only natural that I turned to artistic studies, and that I graduated from the painting workshop of the higher school Arts in Carré de Mons in 2008. Afterwards, I became a teacher of Plastic arts and it is not until 2013, installed in Charleroi, that I took over the brushes and started what is currently my artistic work. My painting is not free. It questions, it raises questions about how we interact with our environment ... but it does so in seduction. A bit like a sick facies nicely made up. In a way, the history of our society! My subjects concern, for the moment, exclusively, nature. In this sense, I paint pictorially modified organisms (OPM) in an aesthetic of illustration, even decoration. This decorative aspect denies the organic vitality of the subject but the spectator sees only fire because the simulacrum works .... "This butterfly is magnificent" will say. The series of small artificial worlds (PMA) there, moreover, follows. In addition, symbols run through my paintings, touching on the ephemeral side of life, the status of those left behind and the possible slippage of science, while seducing the spectator with bright colors flirting with the psychedelic. I therefore borrow aesthetic codes from illustration but also from graffiti, the world of tattooing, the history of art and of course contemporary art as a whole, passing by Magritte, Jeff Koons , Murakami, Yue Minjun and many others.
