Luc Dratwa

Luc Dratwa, born in 1958, lives and works in Brussels, in Belgium. This autodidact was the editor of the design and architecture newspaper "Domino", developed since his early childhood a passion for art. He was first seduced by painting and then by taking pictures, soon becoming his favorite media. From painting he kept the importance given to the colors and the graphics of the compositions.

According to him, to exhibit is to show yourself. This is why Luc Dratwa waited many years before taking the great leap when he judged that he was close to perfection and rigor, aimed for such a long time. His photographer career was beginning. All the subjects that he will come to are above all a transcribed story on photographic paper. Since 2009, the city and New York particularly, are his favorite themes. His different faces offer countless possibilities to let creation take over.

His vision of the photographer isn't only about taking a picture; Luc Dratwa gives a great importance to think about a work of art as a whole. Every detail is thought through and designed by the hand of the photographer, from the shooting, to the print or the choice of the frame, or of the paper. Perfectionism is palpable in each of his creations, where nothing is left to chance.
