Manuel Geerinck

Manuel Geerinck's work is situated in the evolution of his personal practices, works on paper, paintings on wood, and photographs mounted on steel. While something in the supports contracts, hardens, the effect is confirmed in a practice that is radicalized by moving from the craft of the line to its mechanical reproduction. Neither similar nor resembling these forms refer us either to a pseudo-scientific vocabulary of lenticular appearances, or to the expressionist theater of an unformulated biological universe. Indeed if this work was part of a tradition or historical influences, they would be based on Lazlo Moholy Nagy, of which Alain Fleig wrote in photography and surrealism "His series has become one of the bases of modernity, the photogram and the imprint work ".
