Born in 1989 - Belgium
Mélanie Peduzzi was born in Brittany, in 1989. She graduated with the D.N.A.P of the École Supérieure des Beaux-arts in Quimper in 2010. The next year, she gets closer to her Belgian origins and enrolls in the Photography program of the La Cambre Vsiual Arts School in Brussels. She graduates from the Master?s program in 2013.
The body, and especially her body, is the basis of her practice. It is through the body that she receives, digests and translates the society in which she lives. It is a tool for artistic production and a vector for the relationships with the others. The representation is put into question through action, text and image.
Besides her artistic practice, she takes part in dance, writing and performance workshops about language and the body. She has worked with Sabine Macher,
Lucille Calmel, Christophe Alix, Stéphanie Lupo, Gwendoline Robin, Monica Klinger and Patricia Kuypers.
Since September 2011, she explores the world of prostitution. Her work is based on photography and writing and is meant to last several years. She is also a performer in Madely Schott?s play, entitles TEKELAMA, that is present in several festival in the Laboréales. She has recently taken part into the opening of a space for artistic experiments, LE KABINET in Schaerbeek. Many of her projects mix visual art and performance art.
