Geneviève Nicolas

Born in 1947, Geneviève Nicolas is a Belgian painter. Having a dense artistic training in painting and drawing, she studied at the Uccle Academy, at the Etterbeek Academy and at the Ixelles School of Arts.

With lyricism, the creator says, "Painting: is a way of expressing my intimate relationship with the night". It's something that wants to be revealed, something about me that I ignore. But which wants to reveal itself, become visible. Dare to look, dare to enter the mystery of the shadows. To approach it, scrutinize it, tame it maybe. Diving,faults, black holes. Emerging by strata, sediments of memories, shreds of dreams, opium. And sometimes also, yes just sometimes, there are rays of light". Besides figuration, his painting is "outside the limits of the ego". Her painting is full of clouds and of evanescent, wandering and shimmering lights. The movement of a soul seems to float and irradiate from her canvases. The artist has a spiritual quest where her canvas are the result of this journey. the energy flow and the chemistry operates. " The fullness of the world, gathered in a square", conludes the artist.

A rising artist, his exhibitions are multiple in Brussels and Woluwe Saint-Pierre as well as in galleries and cultural spaces. She participated at the 7th and 8th biennale (Meeting Brussels Art). She obtained the 2nd prize of the Jury granted by the Manag'art Award.
