Guy-Rémy Vandenbulck

Born in 1952 - Belgium

BIOGRAPHY

Guy-Remi Vandenbulcke was born in Brussels in 1952.
His childhood and adolescence are marked by the light, the colors, the smells of the Congo where he grew up. Like many of his compatriots, he returned to Belgium for his studies. After a license in Economics at the University of Liege, it achieved a profound desire but not expressed and studied drawing and painting at the Academy of Saint Josse-Ten -Noode.

His work comes mainly around urban themes, from chaos to the energy generated by the cities. Tirelessly, his remarks is to question, to apprehend the urban fevers beat by the body in movement, the major ports mythical and the mystery of their floating architectures, the nervous networks and trajectories of railways, roads, bridges and railway stations.
It is acrylic, inks and pigments on canvas incorporating fragments of advertising posters grubbed up, be slashed, watercolours and drawings on paper but also of sculptures in iron wires of rusty, knotted, twisted. His work included the search for materials resolutely urban porters of stories, strata of the time.

He has obtained numerous distinctions and awards of paint and its works are presented in many collections public or private (Museum of Modern Art in Brussels, Museum of Ixelles, Museum of Contemporary Art of the ULB, General Company of Belgium, Dexia Bank, Bank Paribas, Ministry of the French Community, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Telefonica Madrid...)
