Presentation

Jaildo Marinho, born in Brazil, lives and works in Paris since 1993. Professor at ADAC between 1999 and 2004- Workshop of sculpture and art foundry of the city of Paris - he was one of the founders of the project "Museu MADI" in Brazil.

Marinho creates a work that obeys the formal principle of constructivism. Its goal is above all "to achieve pure forms by means of geometry". Both in his paintings, where he willingly introduces a third dimension through the voids he creates there, and in his sculptures, strictly geometric shapes, lines on a neutral background and primary colors merge, in order to create a pure pictorial space and rational.

The way in which he structures his paintings, with lines and a limited range of colors, registers him as a distant heir to Piet Mondrian, including the paintings in the New York series, composed of blue, yellow and red lines, painted or drawn. directly on the canvas, create a space and no longer reflect a perfect balance of the composition but of the work of art seeking to "present what life has unchanging, vitality in its purest form" .
