Born in 2007 - Canada

BIOGRAPHY

More than an artistic duo, MM are also a couple in real life. Their diverging opinions and widely different personalities inspired them to collaborate on a painting project.

Mélanie Lefebvre has been a painter since 2007. She worked for years in photography and graphic design until she decided to leave this field to study visual and media arts. Since obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she has dedicated herself entirely to painting. Her work is now displayed in Montréal, Sherbrooke and neighboring areas.

Martin Fontaine is an art director who has worked in the world of graphic design for over 15 years. He is passionate about design in all its forms, whether expressed in industrial design, engineering or even in the automobile industry. He put his Cartesian talents to use in building the pair’s current home and studio in Shefford.

The two artists have launched their first joint artistic experience, a study in contradictions. Their paintings are visual compromise—an embodiment of their growing complicity.
