Willy Ramos was born in 1954 in Pueblo Bello in Columbia. He lives and works in Valencia in Spain.

In 1974, he graduated from the Beaux-Arts School in San Carlos in Valencia. After his "Contemporary wall painting" classes in Barcelona and "Engraving and lithography" classes in Italy, Willy Ramos became a doctor in Plastic arts and a teacher at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.

To Claude Monet studies, Willy Ramos ads the exuberance of Wassily Kandinsky, Henri Matisse and the Fauvist painters, while his naked paintings, lavish and sculptural, remind the Tahitian paintings of Paul Gaugin.

The painter realizes large format oil paintings, that explore the idea of nature and celebrate color, rhythm and light. With their large expressionist lines, their simplified forms and their explosion of bright colors, these numerous garden scenes remind us the famous series "Nymphéas".

Ramos' paintings are organized and harmonious compositions, at the same time balanced and full of energy. Willy Ramos paints an idea of nature, whereas a literal representation of flowers, landscapes or portraits that are in front of him.
