Marc Dethier , alias Moyo, is a belgian artist who was born in 1961 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He spent his frst years of life in Congo and then came back to Belgium where he studied applied arts. He graduated in 1982, and became a teacher of fine arts. He teaches mainly at his home. Subsequently and occasionally, he delivers drawing classes in schools in Stavelot, Malmedy and Butgenbach.
In parallel to this, moyo likes painting. His oil paintings show us his unique style, where all the focus is on the light and colors. Sometimes he uses them to make his floral compositions, sometimes to make more paintings, which evoke the idea of a season for example. The whites of his paintings contrast with the game of colors and recall the emptiness and silence of nature, Moyo's main source of inspiration.
Moyo has exhibited his work since 2000 in Germany and Belgium.
