Born in 1913 - Denmark
Carl Henning Pedersen is a Danish artist born in Copenhagen in 1913 and died in 2007 in Copenhagen. He was introduced to graphic art at the Graphic Art Center in Metairie Bruyere, Burgundy.
He is one of the major figures of the group Cobra, a group that based its work on the concepts of spontaneity, freedom and imagination. His prints are full of fantasy or real characters, castles and animals, which he depicts with bright colors and pose them in dreamlike worlds straight out of his imagination.
His work has been exhibited in numerous occasions during solo and group exhibitions in several internationally renowned places such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris and the Walkers Art Center in Minneapolis . In 1976 the city of Herning in Denmark dedicated a museum to him with more than 3,000 pieces made by him.
