Born in 1972 - France
Born in 1972 in Paris, Arnaud Huppé studied art and print on textiles at the National School of Applied Arts and Crafts Olivier de Serres.
He worked in fashion design and then traveled to discover traditional techniques of textile prints in North Africa, the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia and Japan (from 1991 to 1998). His trips gave him the possibility to discover crafts and techniques, to meet people and to take notes and sketches on his travel books. When he returned to Paris, he exposed his paintings in galleries and salons, and worked on designs, especially for a puppet theater.
Since 2007, when he got his CAPES in Plastic Arts, he dedicated himself to education.
In his paintings, Arnaud Huppé combines references to the world of contemporary photography and fashion by using a technical vocabulary borrowed from street art (spray paint and stencil) and acrylic surfaces, oil, ink, applied in overlays, in glazing or opacity, making reference to the universe of textiles, prints, motifs. The forms melt, are detached on colored backgrounds and on color mixes.
