François Schmidt

François Schmidt is a French draftsman, illustrator and author. After studying engraving, he decided to turn to drawing, his main passion. He currently lives and works in Reims.

François Schmidt draws with meticulousness and precision, favoring thin lines to thick lines. From time to time he chooses to enhance his work with a few touches of colored pencil. To his image, he has constructed a sparkling and malicious universe, where humor reigns as absolute master. The viewer has no choice but to immerse himself in his captivating and mesmerizing creations and to get lost in this labyrinth of lines and colors.
Among the works illustrated by François Schmidt, we can cite "Le Tyran, Le Luthier et le Temps", "La Cathédrale Engloutie" and "Jardins, Gloriettes et Cabanes Perchés". The artist also works with champagne brands such as Krug, Laurent Perrier and Veuve Clicquot. He illustrates the boxes of the pink biscuits of Reims. He recently worked on the official brochure for the UNESCO World Heritage classification of champagne landscapes.

His album "Le Tyran, Le Luthier et Le Temps" was awarded the Octagon Award for best illustrated album by a young artist. François Schmidt exhibits his work regularly in France and abroad. One of his most recent exhibitions was held at the Opera Theater of Reims.
