Presentation

Catherine Rebois was born in 1960 in Nancy. She is a photographer and teaches image aesthetics in Paris. Initially she began by experimenting the relationship with image through cinema studies. She uses photography as a medium to express herself freely. She recently did a PHD thesis en aesthetics, visual arts and contemporary art called "Experience in art and the knowledge of the subject. Photo and identity".

"I recreate narration and its form through an out of sync look which needs introspection or a questioning of the body" says the artist. Her photos explore sensitivity.

She exhibits abroad, mainly at the Museum of the Republic in Brazil. Topography space invited Catherine Rebois to be curator of the "Obverse and sensitive setback" exhibition and design the catalog. The exhibition brought together Antoine d'Agata, Dorothea Smith, Andre Serrano, and her works. A book on her photographic work "Body Lato Sensu" was published through a preface by Dominique Baqué.
