Georges Dumas was born in Chartres in 1975. He is a self-taught artist.
He starts his artistic career by taking photographs with a cheap SLR camera and an enlarger installed in a room that was never completely dark. This experience teaches him that he can go beyond technical limits and define his personal style.
The turning point in his artistic approach takes place when he converts to the digital image, in the mid-2000s. The possibility to edit images with the help of the computer allows him to reconcile his photography practice with his vast imagination shaped by his numerous museum visits. Between 2008 and 2010, he collaborates with Philippe Laurent, artist and electronic musician, and this experience leads him to go beyond digital art and engage with mixed media.
