Presentation

“My artistic approach is an evocation of color, constantly calling on a musical vocabulary, with scales, tones and chromatic harmonies. This analogy is not at all risky: Harmony offers itself to the gaze from the colors and tones, from their harmony on the canvas, but the idea that we have of harmony is, in painting as in music linked to visions of eras. My work is declined in lines, traces, colors and forms which by playing on the fabric unfold, emphasize their difference in the whole painting. I'm looking for base colors that are made from pigments and an oil medium, as well as thicker materials like printing paste. I also sometimes use acrylic as the basis of my preparation. I wait for one of them to captivate me to make my first trace, so the second will follow and this until the table seems balanced, stable and harmonious to me, the splashes and drips are a plus. expression of color and let the material flourish. I let go and give free rein to the emotions of the day. I work several weeks on a canvas or even several months flat on the ground. I build and weave my web to capture my emotions. I explore, I contemplate ... Always looking for new sensations between color and myself, I search for a new language. The harmony of a canvas depends on these present moments, I never know what I want to paint it is always about the feeling and the energy, my gestures do not always obey the heart, but when I feel a kind of state of grace taking hold I know why I'm here. The physical reality of color is definable, but its effect on our sensitivity is variable depending on many cultural and emotional elements. The effect of harmony occurs when the colors balance each other. By researching its new color relationships, I endeavor to reverse the place of values. My inspirations are, the old walls, the facades of houses, palisades, shadows, superimposed posters, the wear and tear of the walls and its multilayers of paint and wallpaper that represent the past time, the emotions experienced, nature, flowers , wildlife. All painters inspire me, in particular Matisse (it's all about the relationship), Malevich, Sonia Delaunay (the colors of abstraction), Kandinsky, Miró, Paul Klee, Rothko, Basquiat, Soulages, JP Pincemin, Alechinsky ... and many others . More than a simple inspiration, abstract art through action painting and geometric or constructivist abstraction, becomes a real aesthetic obsession. Mikel Dufrenne (1910-1995) philosopher, sets out to describe the aesthetic experience lived, as a privileged means that we have to experience our presence in the sensitive. It celebrates this happy form of feeling, this high moment of perception where, at the limit of the thinkable, the original connivance of man and the world is revealed. This aestheticism of abstract art then becomes a philosophy of the image, which can be perceived as absurd for many. Albert Camus wrote “- If it seems absurd, then the experience is positive, it is the experience of authenticity. ". To remain authentic through painting to express feelings of joy, suffering, pleasure… To be present in the experience - To be oneself. “I try to get the color to fully enter the mind of the spectator after which it acts according to its depth of expression, I like to suggest. »Bartholdi School of Applied Art Paris (1971-1973) Création Bijoux (1982-1990) 10 years of ceramics Atelier d'Aix les bains (1992-2002) Self-taught for all other courses
