Marc Doulat

Born in 1935 - France

BIOGRAPHY

Marc Doulat lives in Paris and observes the city every day.

In the 80s, he worked with high sensitivity film and started to develop his approach of overlaying images.

From 1991, the colors and the aesthetics become means to design an architectural construction of his photographs. During 10 years, he works on this vision, while keeping a look on fashion mode and its frozen postures.

In 2001, he abandons silver prints, not without doubts " photography is so faithful to the optical reality that it threatens to destroy the idea of beauty that each of us has". It’s crazy! He then decides to cut, layer and assemble his images and put them at the service of what was going to be a revolution: collage became digital.

A few years later, he joined the adventure of The Impossible Project and contributed to its expansion in France.

On July 19, 2011, Marc Doulat embarked for the odyssey of his origami photography: it is a work of photo cumulative editing, in reference to the division of cells.
