Khwezi Strydom is a painter from Lyon, son of a Tunisian mother and a South African father. He was surrounded by painting since very young and influenced by his mother's passion. He discovered street art when he was a teenager and started tagging the streets of his hometown. He then obtained a degree in glass blowing, but very soon felt the intense need to create: so he retook the bushes and the paint bombs.
For his creations, Khwezi Strydom gets inspired by his trips to the United States and South Africa, as well as from the different cultures that he has inherited.
Khwezi Strydom's work is a fusion between the modern world and traditional ethnic cultures. Through his painting, the artist wonders about a possible cohabitation between a globalized culture and the traditions of each territory, of each ethnic group and each family. From this query he creates dynamic, colorful and incredibly enthusiastic pieces. Hope and optimism are more present than ever. The artist builds a world of respect, cultural richness, openness and solidarity.
Khwezi Strydom exhibits his work regularly in Lyon. He also participated in an exhibition in Tokyo.
