Betty Wittwe is passionate about art history, and uses the codes and reference from the big masterpieces and the big masters of painting to make his own paintings. His style resembles sometimes illustrations, is the cause of his reappropiation of cartoon characters.
In 1988,Betty Wittwe opened his gallery "Art Researcher" in Metz. Since that same year, his work has been permanently exposed in a gallery in New York.
