Anne Chériez

Graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris (workshop Jean-Michel Alberola and Pierre Sterckx) in 2006, with a work of painting and video. Her work has been presented and rewarded at various exhibitions and festivals, including the Mulhouse Tous Courts festival where she received the encouragement prize for the video Soleil noir, then the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Paris for the Pierre drawing prize. David-Weill. After her participation in the Salon de Montrouge in 2009, she won the Jung-Hun Mécénat painting prize in 2011 which exhibited her in 2015 at the Hangaram Art Museum in Seoul, Korea and continues to support her. "In my painting, each new work takes its origin in a sort of" visual shock ": a colored facade, a discreetly cracked wall, a street that I cross, the cut out of a tree or a window just closed. These encounters take place in my direct environment. They make up the raw material of my painting, and always raise the question of the limits that construct the space that we perceive.
