Marcel Reynaud

Born in 1961 - France

Marcel Reynaud was born in 1961 in Grenoble. He started painting when he was a teenager and devoted entirely to art when he was 19 years old. He produced academic paintings while working in the ateliers of various painters until 1987 (he had numerous exhibitions in Paris during this academic period).

After years of figurative and academic painting, Marcel Reynaud turned towards lyrical abstraction. His meeting with Cesar, the famous sculptor, marked a decisivemment in his career. Abstraction is difficult and the conquest of the blank space can only succeed with a sensitive soul who knows how to dominate his palette while keeping its spontaneity. This comes naturally to the artist as he fabricates his own pictorial material.
