Hector Peper

Videographer, painter and musician, Hector Peper is a young Swiss artist, born in Boston in the 1980s. First close to art brut then influenced by the works of Karel Appel, Dubuffet, Basquiat and finally American abstract expressionism , he made himself known through a series of large ink drawings on paper which mixes naive art and abstractions. In 2012, a solo exhibition in Paris of 20 large wild, generous and colorful paintings that he called “Buddies”, opened the doors to many collectors between Paris, Barcelona and Copenhagen. After two exhibitions in 2014 and 2015 which affirms it in a more controlled and sensual abstraction, he settles between Paris in Berlin and then develops a mixed technique based on oil, acrylic, ink and varnish which gives his latest paintings a strong and lively presence. 1718 is the first French gallery to represent him.
