His centers on the idea of space. He is fascinated by cities with urban landscape and architecture (Berlin, Rome, Paris, Bratislava, Singapore), ports and industrial landscapes (Casablanca, Surabaya), gardens, natural landscapes (the floods provoked by the Loire river), spiritual places, lapidaries and archaeological sites, such as Mount Athos, the temples of South India, Bali and Java, the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella ; the abbey of Beauport, places of memory (the Louvre museum, the former National Library of France), "confined spaces" (the nomads architecture in the Sahel, the caves in Cappadocia).

His images are about memory, they relate to the history of these places and their transformations. The essential is always an exercise on the void, which is at the center of all his photographic work and of his reflection. He searches the suspended time, and for a contemplative photography.
