Presentation

Philippe Drix came to fine art photography in 2012. His techniques allow him tho create images, often non-figuratives ones, which he dramatizes by adding external elements, to compose odd and dreamlike scenes. He is very influenced by the "Stylus Phantasticus", a style of musical composition quite popular during the 17th century, based on improvisation and the multiplicity of musical ideas; his style is a sort of transposition in the pictorial sphere.

Photography has been focused on documentary objectivity but also on the dramatized illusion of invented scenes, searching for the subjectivity of a personal vision: it becomes then fine art photography. Using different tools and techniques, such as collages or chemical baths, nothing seems to stop fine art photographers in their search for surrealist images. Philippe Drix follows this vision in the digital world.

For the fine art photographer, the photographic image is the starting point of a journey where the imagination runs free in the infinite variety of digital transformations.
