Roman Lardanchet was born in Lyon (France) in 1977 and his work is marked by the world of robots and science fiction that he has been passionate about since his childhood. Over time, he has built a vast universe filled with mechanical chimeras, creatures from a mixture of Fantasy and Cyber-punk, which he brings to life through his works of art, his writing and his sculpture.
His latest creation process is called Mécamorphose: the artist dismantles vehicles and transforms them into anthropomorphic beings or animals. Thus, inexorably, reflecting the Mécamorphose, the boundary between the mineral and the organic, the inert and the living is deleted.
The works of Roman Lardanchet, particularly his "creatures", of all sizes, can be seen in various galleries, but also during events like Marseille, European Capital of Culture 2013 or Japan Expo and The Strange Festival in Paris. They are also present in prestigious cultural places, including "la Demeure du Chaos" - the Abode of Chaos in Lyon, where he participated in the summer 2013 exhibition at the famous Trans-Mutation, and the Contemporary Art Museum of Montreal.
