Robert Le Guinio

Born in 1937 - France

Born in 1937 in Côtes D'Armor (France), self-taught painter Robert Le Guinio has been exhibiting his works since 1976. Robert Le Guinio lives and worked in Île de France and in Brittany (France). He is a member of the committee of the Foundation Taylor, he was awarded the the silver medal of the Artistes français and has won numerous other prizes.

He started his painter career in 1962, but he also works as an interior decorator. He dedicates himself completely to painting since 1993. Four periods mark his journey as a painter: from 1967 to 1973 he studied the masters in the Louvre museum as copyist ; from 1973 to 1981, he has been painting on the ground; from1982 to 1991, he has been working in his studio, and concentrated on color ; after 1991 he became interested exclusively in abstract painting, searching for the pure creation.

"He calls himself an abstract artist because he goes very far in this field. Little by little, the thought becomes the only on that seems to guide him and the analysis dominates his inspiration, his approach of material and color. The unconscious mental processes are dynamic and trigger conscious behaviors. In his paintings, the conscious and the unconscious are constantly in tension to create a certain plenitude, a balance in which he the artist can feel perfectly happy."
