Born in 1978 - France
Sarah Schmidt-Whitley is a visual art photographer of French and German origin living and working in Paris.?
In Austria, at the age of 19, she started to develop her photographs in a dark room and discovered the magic of photographic effects. After several years of experimenting with photography and artistic expression, she was captivated by the richness of digital techniques that formed an ideal complement to her visual art experimentation.
Sarah Schmidt-Whitley examines the urban landscape, the interaction of individual destinies and the perception of reality in order to detect the underlying beauty and capture the present before it recedes into the past. Her artworks delight in the present and belong to the school of humanistic photography whilst following a more contemporary approach. She helps us see a world with a touch of unreality and reminds us that our eye is creative and influences our perception. Her work encourages us to look at life in a different way, one that is full of poetry, emotion and the invisible.
