Lorenzo Boldy

Lorenzo Boldy was born on July 31, 1964 in France. He has Spanish, South American and Hungarian origins.
His origins influence him and can be perceived in his work. He has worked in advertising in France, Holland and Hungary. During all these years, he has also been painting, so he decided to dedicate his career entirely to his painting practice.

Boldy?s painting is a pop, multicolored and multicultural Bestiary. Characters from cartoons, advertising slogans and logos are present in his paintings full of saturated colors. But, if the artist borrows from the iconography of advertising, its reflexes and its formulas, it is to introduce his own subversive elements that alter the apparent joy.

?I have grown up with pop culture and the Comics of 70s and 80s. At the age of 8 I was in love with green ladybugs.

My pictorial Street Art/graffiti style represents the hectic urban world in which we live, where everything is overlapping. My works are decorated with advertising codes, described by comic book characters who are parties of our daily city life.

My painting is represented by moments of life, suspended instants, a seemingly naive universe that often conceal more profound convictions.

Graphically, I am trying to achieve an instinctive expression, punctuated with more or less readable writings.
I want my works to be constantly connected to high voltage in order to send you lots of energy and color."
