Presentation

D'Huparlac was born in 1953. When he was 12, he started to paint, influenced by the great masters: Jean de La Tour, Rembrandt, Caravaggio. He already expressed interest in the chiaroscuro, light, and the mixing of color tones. These effects become evident in his urban canvases, namely his paintings of Venice and of other cities in which nature and architecture meet. Attached to his roots, like Boltanski, he makes timeless reliquaries (Module sacral) that need long periods of research.

In 2009, he exhibited in Conques a series of 20 paintings inspired by the history of the Medieval City and the work of Soulages whose work he had been admiring since his adolescence. His meeting with the artist reinforced his creative research and allowed him to transcend his approach as an alchemist of colors.

With a steady hand, he engraves a text with an obscure meaning. Pierre D'Huparlac highlights a path, invents a language and invites us to look for the truth inside ourselves, through contemplation.
