Born in 1974 - France
Sabine Jeannot is an established artist who was born in Versailles, France. Today, after living in Singapore and Oslo, she lives in Versailles again. She has studied art in Paris and has worked as a creative director at several advertising agencies, a haute couture hat designer, and her guideline throughout these careers was the conviction that "everyone is different, and this is what is beautiful".
She constructs paintings starting with superpositions of photographic elements. Photographs are for Sabine Jeannot the basic material. In Singapore, she bases her work in words that she creates, deforms, mixes and cuts. In Oslo, where she moved in 2010, she let herself seduced by nature, which also inspires her work.
Her technique evolves in time. Today she integrated digital elements in her work. She collects images of forests, the sea, crowds, urban elements. The black surfaces in her work are made by pieces of night sky, the blue ones are bits of images of the sea or reflections in the snow, the green ones are pieces of foliage. Nature offers her an incredible palette and infinite nuances.
Her images address to our subconscious: some might only see the abstract dimension, other might notice the figurative elements, the portraits and close-ups. 'I want to surprise viewers, I want the painting to come to life in a different way for everyone, so that it becomes unique for each person who contemplates it.'
