Born in 1981, the artist regularly changes pseudonyms, therefore giving the nickname "Alfonse, Paul et les autres...". He lives and works in Calais and Boulogne sur Mer.
Just like this game of changing identities, the artist likes to transform reality, and give it a whole new look. His creation process is as brutal as his works: tearing and cutting images which are later savagely assembled and stapled together, in an intentionally precarious manner. Through an expressionist approach, he uses fashion, pornographic or human body part photos, on which he paints and draws.
Under the pseudonym, Alfonse Dagada, he displays work that are a reflection on the primitive instincts of man, torn between life and death, mortality and transgression...While Paul Martin, another character, creates more conventional art as for its content, he can't help but add some irony while treating them.
