Once he graduated, he stated exhibiting in prestigious places, such as at the Museum of Nantes and Béziers, at the French Institute of Seville and even at the FIAC (Foire International D'Art Contemporain). He worked as artistic director of advertising and publishing agencies until 1970, and then decided to dedicated solely to painting.

In 1984, he was asked to paint two canvases by President François Mitterrand to offer them as a present to the Queen of England during a presidential visit. Today, the artist focuses his work on colorful and bright portrays of imaginary knights and static landscapes.
Thanks to his pictorial experiments, Antoine De la Boulaye ended up using a very particular process, which consists in painting the object the most precise way possible at first, and then deconstructing it by superimposing it on other images. Movement and sense of colors are some of the main qualities of his pieces, getting inspired by the work of Degas and Lautrec.

His paintings and sculptures are exhibited everywhere in the world, in New York, London, Paris, Lausanne and Basel.
