Philippe BROSSE was born in 1966, he lives and works in Normandy. He started with the PLACA group in 1983. Since then he has continued to exhibit in Paris and Normandy.
Painter and plastic artist, he also creates frescoes and theater settings. Travels and encounters have allowed him to comply with the technical constraints of art, and therefore express this with a perfect control over the means. Philippe Brosse paints still life like faces and faces as still life because he doesn't depict reality, but their essence. Nothing is detailed but all is said, even the most intimate of things.
During lovemaking, driven by the painter with so called inanimate objects, he ended up realizing their true nature as they revealed their soul. According to Philippe Brosse, all things have a soul. They also have a past, he updates them like a researcher rummaging through his canvas with many pictorial layers.
