Born in 1975 - France
Exhibited in the United States, London, Brussels, Luxemburg and Geneva at 40 years old, Vincent Richeaux is an artist whose notoriety goes beyond our borders. His exhibitions have also marked the French news, mostly in his Bordeaux region where he was born.
Vincent Richeaux becomes a professional artist in 2002. His work is based on oils, where he expresses a strong character through landscapes from the 30's, ports, markets from all around the world.
Then in 2007, he starts working on a large urban series about New York and London. It is an important artistic change. A collaboration with the Mek during the Contemporary Art Fair of Nîmes will give him awareness about spray can work and the street art culture. He dedicates himself and immerses in this movement by discovering the work of Villéglé, Speedy Graphito, Erro or the group Faile.
His influences? The great masters of Pop Art like Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein and those of Street Art like Ben Frost, Speedy Graphito, Banksy, Erro and Jacques Villegle that he considers like the master of poster.
The mix of the techniques allows a broad range of exploitation: poster collage for the diversity of typography, felts for drawing, stencil for the plurality of the subjects, spray can for the spontaneity and energy; acrylic and oil for the classical side of painting.
Among several private French and aboard collections, his name will continue to be part of Street Art worldwide.
