Born in 1978, Betty Pelmont studied at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Tours from 1997 to 1999.
She has been showing her work since 1997. In 1998 she traveled to Asia with the 'Association des Amis des Beaux Arts' of Tours and showed some of her paintings in the exhibition 'Paris, Oulan Bator Pékin' in 1998.
Her work has been shown by galleries and during artistic events in Metropolitan France and in Guadeloupe.
Inspired by the universe of creole tales and the voodoo mythology, Betty Pelmont's painting is paradoxical, both rigorously constructed and sensitive. Her work is informed by the legacy of Carribean art history and the cultural complexity of the Carribean islands.
