Born in 1959 - France
Born in France in 1959, Patrick Delaunay is a French artist who currently lives and works in Rouen. After devoting exclusively to drawing for several years, he decided to study at the National School of Fine Arts of Paris, from 1991 to 1997, where he began painting in oil in 1995, under the tutelage of painter François Bard's.
Playing with the depth and the intensity of the oil paint, Patrick Delaunay reveals his subjects and images on the blank canvases, working on the fresh material fervently, which he poses in sucessive layers of paint.
His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Paris and surroundings, such as at the International Show of Art in Bourges. Certain of his paintings portray jazz icons from the film "Love Me" by Laetitia Masson released in in the year 2000, and others are part of numerous private collections in Europe, the United States and Canada.
