Born in 1988 - France
Born in 1988 in Yvelines, he lives and works in Paris region.
In 2012, Denis Christophel was introduced at the 57th Salon de Montrouge. In 2013, he graduated from Ecole supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. The Galerie Guillaume displayed his work during the Place aux jeunes exhibition in February 2014, where he achieved great success.
According to Alexandre Crochet "Denis Christophel is one of those people who is still convinced that painting has something to convey. Careful about avoiding anecdotal aspects and leaving more room for the spectator's imagination, Christophel evolves towards a more simplified space, in the extreme and calls it "original". Through splendid work of colors and scratching, with a palette downsized to the absolute necessary, he lets muddled up heaps, retinal memories or conjured up phantom islands loom out of clouds, due to certain strokes.
