Presentation

Born in 1964, Valérie Bidaud is only 21 when she is awarded her diploma the School of Fine Arts of Havre in 1985. She then attends the School of architecture of Rouen from 1986 till 1989. During almost ten years she manages a company of molding before dedicating herself to sculpture and painting in 1998.

Valérie Bidaud creates a universe stemming from the bottom of the sea and from her fertile imagination, which comes from Lewis Caroll, Robert Desnos and the disturbing world of Jérome Bosch. The nymphs she shapes in resin seem to sketch a water dance where the human, the vegetable and the animal are recomposing in a joyful apocalypse.

Along her course of this aquatic journey, she also explores the earth and the sky: arrive frogs, birds, monkeys and big animals. Since 2003, Valérie Bidaud lives and works in Le Pouliguen, France, an inspiring anchor point for the continuation of her journey.
