Daniel Pierre dit Hubert

Daniel Pierre dit Hubert was born in 1963 in Montreuil.

He studied advertising design in Paris. Since 1986 he became an independent illustrator and worked for advertising agencies, phonographic publishing companies, the musical press and in the world of "9th art" as well. During this time, he was the winner of various competitions such as: RTL Design Magazines, Canal +, Artists Magazines. In 1988 he became the artistic director of a Parisian advertising agency. In 1988, he decided to end his career as an illustrator to devote himself entirely to painting. He lives and works in Honfleur.

It seems a world away from advertising when we observe the paintings of Daniel Pierre dit Hubert. Oil painting, profound, intense, turbulent, free from all academic and graphical codes with occasional moments of realism, surrealist marks more precisely. An abstract painting with a particular color treatment. A palette with cold or warm tones, tones that clash but mix. But these long forms, this disorder is not free.

This contradictory, profound pictorial world, is that of the human being which he interrogates. We may rarely surprise Daniel Pierre dit Hubert with pencils and ball point pens in his hands to create illustrative works but following the same line of his painting taking back to paper the topics which constantly invade him, invade us. Our creator has freed himself for a long time in abstraction and is constantly testing the souls.
