Born in the south of France, Joss, this girl has the middle name "Messaouda" which means "Promise". The start of something big for this solitary child. Joss Blanchard is an artist who paints from an early age. This is the way she has chosen to express his emotions.
In her early paintings, she shared her thoughts, desires, sorrows, spiritual research. Portraits and very academic copies also brought her mastery of the material to achieve a very personal way. She seeks to translate "substantially", "what we cannot see with the eyes, but that can be guessed with the heart". Somewhat in the spirit of Chagall, beautiful aesthetics and philosophy are at the heart of the Joss Blanchard's work, in a search for spirituality and purity. "For me painting is a language well beyond words, that of the depths of our soul".
Joss Blanchard exhibits in galleries and museums since 1986. She received numerous awards including a silver medal at the age of 20, at the international Exhibition of the Academy of Lutèce in Paris and a gold medal at the 'Salon des Beaux Arts' in Nice en 1990. From 1993 to 1995 she produced a series of portraits of officers for the Musée de la Marine in Fréjus. She had numerous solo exhibitions in the US, Japan, Canada... and her paintings have been acquired by several museums, privates and public collections.
