Born in 1986 - France
ABK is a Franco-Italian artist who lives and works in Paris. She creates socially conscious artwork.
Artist, curator and author, ABK is a multifaceted talent. Having worked as a journalist, she covered topics such as contemporary art and street art; she is also a photojournalist. Her debut exhibition (of drawings) was held in 2001 at agnès b.
Incorporating painting, photography, drawing and video in her practice, ABK "samples" contemporary artistic trends like a musician, creating colorful, funny an unsettling monsters, in three dimensions.
Through this approach she launches ideas upon which we are encouraged to reflect, and/or moments of joy that try to change the world, even a tiny bit, by slightly shifting our perspective on art and humanity. In her work she expresses what she feels but also the result of collective or personal reflection.
