Nelly Stetenfeld is a young French artist, born in 1986.
Nelly Stetenfeld studied at the National School of Fine Arts of Paris where she graduated in 2012. Between 2013 and 2014, she was a resident of the Casa Velasquez in Madrid. While she was still a student, she was awarded with the prize Van Zeeland from the Academy of Fine Arts.
Nelly Stetenfeld's pieces are created with the help of several techniques including drawing and engraving especially aquatint and etching.The use of these different techniques allows the artist to develop his characters in a fantasy and enigmatic world.
Nelly creates real bestiaries in her pieces, with human or animal figures that oscillate between reality and fiction. Her work is regularly exhibited in galleries and art fairs in Spain and France.
